Pain

Pain

A Poem by Farhan Shaikh

I said I'm fine when I was hurt,
I tamed my heart when it was burning.
When I said that, 'I'm there for you' I meant it
You said you need me, but didn't mean that s**t.
And when I was in love with you,
You didn't know how much I cared for you.
Most of the time you controlled my emotions
Made me feel like I am trapped in an ocean.
I miss the old me and the way I used to be,
Just go away so once again I can be free.
You took me for granted
"To push me away" you planned it.
I wanted to be with you, smile with you, cry with you, die with you.
But you chose another guy
And I hesitate to say goodbye
I was an idiot to go after you
'Hey you crazy' said half of the crew
You still screwed me up,
Oh! but now there's nothing new
And I don't know how but I'll get you out of my life,
Enough of the sweet stabbing ,
'Oh! my god did my back hurt your knife'
Even after tearing me apart you faked your words that you cared for me,
You broke me down and now I'm shattered,
Does it matter?
Yes it does, yesterday I red a quote, it said
"They always come back specially when you moved on"
And yet I ain't found a person who proved it wrong.
Now just go away and make your guy happy
Don't break him too like you did to me and make his heart all scrappy.
You don't know what it's like to be me
Don't you ever try to feel how it's like to be
Not everyone is brave enough to face this s**t and let you free.
I guess you heard my words,
Just know this, don't you ever turn back to me.
I'm broken and you don't know what it's like to be.
I'm hurt treated like dirt,
I know I'm lonely now but one day I'll own this desert.

A conversation with oneself ... a lot of truth in this dialog of pain and recognition of I should and shouldn't, we all have those! Well done!

The inner turmoil, pain and desire to move on are cut out in this poem.
"They always come back specially when you moved on" - thats true, to the core!
An expressive poem, especially how you stated "Don't break him too like you did to me and make his heart all scrappy."
Thats very thoughtful of you!

Some of it lines are too strong to make the poem more beautiful and the emotions are so well weaved in the lines.... among all other your poem, i loved this the most.

At times, the pain that keeps flashing inside us gives us the utmost power to live through. And those are the times when the unconventional one-sides honesty of the love becomes a man's inner strength.

Liked the ending. On that note, I wish you all the best. Good write. :)

A epic journey in your words and your thoughts. I liked the places and situations described in the poetry. I did like the ending. Some hope, even in struggle and dead end. Thank you Farhan for sharing the amazing poetry. I liked this one.

Absolutely..
Deep, and full of sad and angry emotions. I really liked reading it, the flow in it kept me going! I can feel the emotions are real, and it's its best feature.

You are welcome!
And yet I haven't found a person who proved it wrong, I love this line, it speakes volumes. It reflects reality that everyone is the same but everyone are the same with some differences. In the end you want that the girl make that guy happy this shows that even though you are angry and hurt you are selfless and wish to see other's happy. I say when we feel the grief only then we don't want others to feel such and suffering does makes you a better person.
One day, I will own this desert is a hard hitting line which shows your courage. I really liked the transformation of feelings in this poem.
