Undertow

Undertow

A Poem by Rece Fantoma
"

Dating after loss...

"
I lost my fight with undertow
Of what if and what would be
Forfeit the ancient coral floor
Promiscuous to my feet
Want I for once to tread my arms
In seas unsalted by my tears
Where oceans meet the stars
Horizons hope and shorelines fear
To lay this vessel far below
And make no further breath
That might be stolen by delusive love
Or wasted on my death
Yet Poseidon cast me out
To wander vacant shores
To spend my last elusive gasp
Upon a name as sweet as yours
