Love Is Concrete

Love Is Concrete

A Poem by Syeda Ayesha

They say love is unconditional
And may be that is the reason why I can never feel its spark they so often talk about in abstract terms.
And in all honesty, I don't desire to feel that spark
Because I can't offer myself to the soul
that finds it too boring to explore in and around the mountains, the valleys, the trees..
Or to be tickled by feathery fragrant flowers
and morning lemon breeze.

I can't connect with the soul that shuts its ears to the chirrup of chubby sparrows,
or to the country river whose mighty flux and flow makes one softly shiver.

I can't bind myself with the soul that lacks the art of finding harmony in simple, natural joys
So, I don't desire to feel that spark which they so often talk about in abstract terms.

This is kinda sad, but also true. In the deeper meaning of life, loving the universe, nature and everything in general in between. Not just a soul connecting with another human soul. But the boundless everlastingness emotions and spiritual connection with everything on earth and in heaven.
