Beyond the Glass

My view of society!

Not understanding

Incapeable of seeing anything in front of me

Dodgeing the blows thrown my way

I ignore the pain and move on with my day

Once you have experienced it, pain is a constant factor of your life

The blows are thrown harder and faster by a broader crowd

Running from the mirror tears streaming

I realize...

To the point of no return, the life I have lived is phony

Never ending restrictions to act a certain way to 'fit in'

The realization looking back on my ending life was the 'in crowd' is unobtainable

The group of friends you surround yourself with are those who you would die for

They will in turn risk anything too keep you safe

Slowly going back to the mirror. I see myself young once again

Not a mere few years, a lifetime

Spirits are everlasting and friends are forever

Never to underestemate the power a few loving words to a friend

Words and friendships share the endurance to last through thick and thin

Oooooh, I just love, love this poem. It speaks out to you and basically calls out your name. I love mirrors. I do not know why, but I just do. Maybe it's because when you look into the mirror it's not just looking at your appearance but in some way you are looking into your soul. This poem is just lovely and just plain adorable. This is very interesting. I like the way you talk about the final test of friends. I have two friends that would leap in front of me to save me. Angel and me boyfrind. But others seem to turn away when I need them the most. But this poem really is very good. i hope to read more like this one :)
