A Poem by Ben Walton

you're feeling funny like you think it's a joke
and my words are getting drowned out by every word you spoke.
now every other word is just a drunken shout
and we're all sick and tired of trying to figure you out.

you're just someone i thought i could trust
you're just someone i thought i could trust

my porcelain heart all melts to clay
and the flowers that you gave me are withering away
everything around here is all acting the same
and your lack of breath won't help you now.

you're just someone i thought i could trust
you're just someone i thought i could trust

if perception is reality then we can be anything we want
we can retrace our footsteps and turn troubles into doubt.
it's like being young must rob you of something
and if it's not love then it's everything else.

you're just someone i thought i could trust
you're just someone i thought i could trust

"it's like being young must rob you of something

You have figured this out at 15, this one thought takes people far older than you years to figure out, that is, if they ever do. This is a brilliant piece. The flow isn't forced. You can tell it occured naturally. The form is flawless. I believe it is a talent that cannot be learned. You are very keyed into the subtlety of a moment. In alot of ways you remind me of Stephen Chbosky (one of my favorite authors) with the way you word things. You have an amazing talent.
