A Poem by Ben Walton
"

"Go off to sleep in the sunshine, I don't wanna see the day when it's dying."

"

the evening paints a sky,
something like van gogh,
onto the canvas of the day.
a mess of blues and blacks
and violets and purples
swirl on her pallet
and brush away the light.
and the crickets barely know the
difference.

explosions in the distance-
the sky is tinted with
yellow and orange.
the stars and the moon sit idly,
making the sun look
superior in comparison.
the street is stained white
as the moon's incandescence
solidifies vapor into dew
and midnight into morning
and morning into day.

lovely.

i dont think i'm going to read any more of your writing because i'm just like "he's 14? he's 14????"

and it sort of confuses me, lol.

"and brush away the light.
and the crickets barely know the
difference."

i mean, beautiful. poignant.

i think i found a fellow old soul. :)
