You Miss(ed)

You Miss(ed)

A Poem by Ben Walton
"

"I miss you already."

"

The wind quietly
sweeps you up under her wing
and places you where you can
grow old.
You miss your
mother's nest,
you miss being cared for.
You miss wishing you could
fly,
you miss knowing you would
eventually.
You miss being able to
share
your secrets because
all your friends are vultures now
and you're afraid
but you're more afraid to tell them.
When you're all by yourself with
somebody else you can hear the wind sighing;
and repeating her goodbyes
cause she knows you are up to no good.
She wishes you good luck;
whispers in your ear that you can't
hear her anymore
because the rain is picking up
and you're so parched that
you stand with your mouth open
and swallow the sky.

This poem is lovely!! Love the metaphors and all the emotions that you have included in the poem. Structure could use some work, but, it is still thoroughly enjoyable. Great work!
