Inside my head

In the depths of night, my mind does whirl and spin,
I scream in my head, insanity takes hold,
A tempest raging, tearing at my soul within,
A dark abyss where fear and chaos unfold.

The demons dance, their whispers haunting me,
Their twisted words like daggers in my mind,
I long to break free, to finally be free,
From this torment that I can never leave behind.

But still I fight, with every breath I take,
To quiet the storm and find some peace at last,
To banish the shadows, to banish the ache,
And bury the memories of the past.
