Balance

Balance

A Poem by Faith Anderson
"

This poem is not about God, but rather shows how we make people our gods & how we are chained to them because of that. Any relationship requires a balance of mutual respect. Otherwise, it's harmful.

"
You swept me off my feet.
Carrying me across rivers, valleys, and mountains.
i wrapped my arms around You and held on.

i love You.

You make me sway,
You make me fidget,
You make me move,
You make me shake.

i love You,
i do.

Those eyes i fall into every time,
Those lips i collapse into each time,
those arms i crash into every time.

i do love You,
i do.

but i wonder,
why can't i stand on my own two feet?
