It's Coming

It's Coming

A Poem by Faith Anderson
"

I honestly don't remember too well what this poem is about because it was written a while ago, but it may be about the covid-19 pandemic. But of course, it's up to interpretation too!

"
The earth shifts.
We can feel It
Coming.
We don't know what It is,
But we feel It.
Coming.
And it's bad.

The ground   s       i            t
                        h          f              s       ,

knocking us around.
Like boats on a  stormy sea.
Our legs cru
                  mb
                       l
                         e

beneath us.

And it's bad.

The world shifts
Like paint flaking off a stone.

Like wearing a lens of fear,
Doubt,
And distortion
Of fog and cloud,
Of the unknown,

Of what you know can tear you apart.

Is it natural?
Is it apart of the world beneath you?

Or is it apart from the world you wish existed?

Is it the world you see?
Or the world that is?

The mind shifts
The body shifts
The eye shifts.

And it's bad.
