Resurrection

Resurrection

A Poem by Faith Anderson
"

It is easy to sin and lose sight of God. Oftentimes, we idolize and don't even know it. But because of God's love, grace and mercy, we are never too far gone.

"
under the dirt and grime
the muck and death
the things that silence and muffle
the things that pin and prohibit
the things that enslave and drain

is me

just me

broken
bruised
bloody
and
hopeless

But
then there's
You
You tell me to
RISE
You pull me
from the grave

I am new

I am cleansed
by Your blood

Washed a clean white
A clean slate

Reborn

under the layers of my skin
deep within
splinters form
and plant themselves
itching and stinging
the whole way
i keep walking and soon i lose
my energy
i lose
my direction
i become
distracted
by other things that look like lights in my peripheral
i run to them
mistaking them for goodness
"I just wanna check it out" i'd say

and soon enough
i realize how far i've wandered
from You
from the path
i realize i have dug another
grave

and i trip
and fall into it

But i still see You
i see Your footsteps
and I know I can choose You again
Because You choose me
over and over

I whisper Your Name
And You come
Running
You pull me from the grave
Again
And I am Yours
Again
and
Now
And
Always

I really like this line. We as humans, constantly fall and trip into graves.

It is a really nice poem with a very passsionate feel to it. :)
