A Morning at Sea

A Morning at Sea

A Poem by Alex DS
"

The pure moment of morning bliss at sea

"

Laying in wait in dew covered darkness,

Wafting across the inky black void

Carried on nothing,

And seeking the divine

From black comes light,

Faint but true

A glow on the sails

A shimmer on the sea

A change of the watch

A bell

A voice

A pause

To miss a morning is

To walk an unhallowed deck

Slowly the light caresses the waves

Gentle building loving

In its initial embrace is lost the desire

For light to awaken the day

Born from the darkness a golden halo of light

Explodes

Bathing the ocean in its warm glow

The sailor in his comfort

The ship on her tack

Another morning

The same morning

A different morning

                                                            But morning all the same
