My Mother

An ode to my mom...

A ray of hope,

A shining light,

A gift of God,

A reassuring sight.

A blessing of heaven,

A comforting face,

A rose pure,

In the world’s race.

A blessing Divine,

A sparkling star,

Whose hug takes you,

Into a world afar.

Face aglow,

Smiling sweet,

Helping you,

Stand on your feet.

Comforting us,

When we cry,

Working day and night,

But never a sigh.

To me she is,

Very dear,

With her by my side,

Never fear.

Author's Note

I wrote this for my mother about 4 years back. I haven't edited it again so any suggestions are welcome. :) And send me a title picture for the poem.

As a mother of two boys (one being disabled) ... I am deeply touched, as your words speak of unconditional love and affection toward her.

Just drop the commas, bro. It's annoying as hell. Since you put the commas at the end of each line, I don't think it's necessary. We're already aware that we need to pause for a second.

Well, a lot of people can't figure out from the name, so drop the sarcasm :) And well, I was taught that we should use commas. Yeah, not really required. Of course its sappy...convention demands sappiness on such subjects.
