Old Fashioned GirlA Poem by FamaSemperVivat
I was born in a cabin in the hills of Tennessee,
I left that cabin to see the world and what it could make of me But all I learned from leaving those hills of Tennessee, Was all a man wanted was a little bit of me. I'm an old-fashioned girl, in a new-fashion world. My heart can't take all this misery. I'm an old-fashioned girl, In a high social world, I wish I were back home in Tennessee. I went to the Big Apple from my home in Tennessee, Lured by the lights and bustle that I had seen onTV. But all I learned from leaving y'all will soon see was all a man wanted was a little bit of me. I'm an old-fashioned girl, in a new-fashion world My heart can't take all this misery I'm an old-fashioned girl, in a high social world I wish I was back home with my family. © 2011 FamaSemperVivat |
