A Forgotten Mother's Day

A Forgotten Mother's Day

A Poem by FamaSemperVivat
"

I wrote this awaiting a call from my son on Mother's Day, a call that never came.

"

A forgotten mother am I
I just want to sit and cry,
My son it seems has went away
And refuses to remember Mother's Day

Wonder if he's still aware

That I even exist out there

I bet if I won the lottery

He'd be around for all to see.

But since I can't buy him things

I'm nothing more than broken strings

A puppet he can no longer control

No longer a part of the whole

Tossed aside like yesterday's trash

Because I can no longer give him cash

I'm not worth his time you see,

I guess I just remain dead to thee.

But still it hurts know

My son doesn't care to show

Even on Mother's Day

I'll sit alone and waste away.

Why do you feel this way ...your son's mother?
How do you know he aint waiting for you to open the front door?
Sons will be sons and they like to wander,
And mothers job is to shout at them "COME HOME NOW" though they meander....
(*_*)
Dont hold it against him.....I didnt wish my mum too...
Though I was wondering why she didnt call me and remind me its mothers day...

I am so sorry. Sometimes children (grown) don't realize the hurt they inflict and we don't seem to see them until they need us, but we love them anyway, don't we? :) ((hugs))

I can so relate to this. I hate to be forgotten but it seems as though I have been. It seems I am forever to be placed on the back burner of people's lives. Maybe I am to blame for making myself too available to them. Great write. Hang in there.

Heart break such as this hits close to home although perhaps not for the same reason. Your pain is intense, well expressed and essential poetic in a artistic form that can never be picked apart.
