The open Door

The open Door

A Poem by Notapoet

Confined to that place, I was lost and alone within the realm of obscurity and desolation.

Confused and disoriented, I strained to focus my mind as my body lied helpless and numb, struggling to breathe as my life was slowly drained from me with every breath taken of the stale and dead air that surrounded me.

At the pinnacle of my emotional and spiritual demise I felt the soft warm touch of your lips as you breathed your life giving air into my love starved lungs.

As I inhaled the very essence of you, my blood began to deliver the sustenance of your message.

Promise and hope coursed throughout my body and infused my spirit with the resurrecting

strength of your tenderness, and the healing power of your inner warmth and compassion.

You took hold of my hand and helped me to my feet, lowered the black gossamer veil of uncertainty that hid my view of what was true and relevant to my soul, and revealed the open door that led to my escape from the confines of my sorrow and loneliness.

And together we stepped across that threshold back into your world of eternal love and happiness.
