A Secret In Life

A Poem by Falling Awake

Trying to maximize life,
with busy days filled to the brim…
living on the go,
pushing away discomfort,
trying to accomplish more -
more than myself.

But the key to life’s vibrance
was within my own confines,
always intrinsically accessible.

The neutral awareness,
the open attentiveness,
the innate witnessing,
present all along.

Attention deepens,
experiences expand,
moments stretch,
time slows…

Space forms between seconds
and yet, I’m close to all,
as all is interconnected.

Through taking this space
my receptiveness extends
to other beings, my own Self,
and a higher power.

In this space between,
consciousness blooms,
a fulfilling life emerges,
and all there is to achieve
is presence in each moment.
