Captivity

Captivity

A Poem by Falling Awake

There was once a captive giraffe,

Who escaped from the city zoo,

But with this newly found freedom,

He wasn’t quite sure what to do.

Bustle overwhelms his senses,

‘Till  he finally finds some lawn,

But the trees were scarce and fragile,

With dried leaves barely hanging on.

Flooded with options and self-doubt,

He lets out some ironic laughs,

Returns back to the same old zoo-

Back with all the other giraffes.

Simple poem with in-depth meaning. Loved this poem as one of children's classic. Make it a colorful book with drawings for childreñ rewriting as story. Loved it
