Torn

A poem I wrote in March of 2010

I am undone, Can't you see that?
I'm standing here in the rain
Face tilted towards a storming sky
That matches the rage of emotions

 

Flowing through my heart and mind
So many reasons to stay, to go
I'm lost with out you here by me
I'm broken by staying near you

 

I'm caught in the middle, held
Should I fight for what I want
Or walk away to save what I need?
I'm torn between staying or running?

 

The simplest wants and needs
That fill any young girl's heart
Have you ever thought about what
Your lost love has done to me

 

The one standing before you with
Open arms, her heart in your hands?
You turn from me, shaking your head
So I'm left with one choice alone

 

I run.
