Paclitaxel

In biology class I was given the challenge to create a poem out of the word paclitaxel, a chemotherapy drug... I was shown how to be a better writer by this challenge.

Chemotheraphy,

A last defense broken,

The need to be healed,

A passion to live.

Cancer,

It eats away at one,

Their bodies,

Their minds,

Their souls,

Their will to live.

Chemotherapy,

Break me down,

Build me up,

I have the will to live.

Cancer,

You devour me,

You depend on me,

Why must you do this?

I have the will to live...
