Secrets

Secrets

A Poem by Follan

Secrets I keep,
Secrets I guard,
Secrets I bound into chains,
Never letting go,
Chained down,
You all think secrets are okay,
But in truth they hurt,
They stab,
They choke,
They drown,
Suffocating me , everyday ,every second
They stare at me,
As if waiting for me to unbound them,
Free them like birds,
Their wings fluttering,
Their claws jabbing my windpipe,
Secrets I desperately hold,
They say a secret is what makes a man a man,
And it is what makes a woman a woman,
Liars,liars
That's just an excuse,
To mistrust someone,
Lie to them,
An excuse to be coward and a wuss,
Secrets I keep and guard.
The mere reason of living,
Behind closed doors,
Shutting truth out,
Leaving trust,
Secrets I bound to my very soul,
Never letting go..
Never..
