Memories of a Quiet Death

Memories of a Quiet Death

A Poem by Follan

Staring through the vacant windows,
I reminisce,
Laundry lined up,flowing
The scent of lillies linger,
Clean scent in the air
I remember your last moments.
Holding the hand of your loved one,
You pray, hanging to your life,
Slowly you close your eyes ever so peacefully ....
I hold on to the remains of you,not letting go,
The you that always smiled even in the worst times..
Trying to memorize every little detail of you..
...
Covering you in white they take you away
I have no tears to shed ,
This was not sorrow death for you were peaceful,
With the smile you always had
As if you were just dreaming
But you were not gone.
I know it...
This was the quiet death of an angel..
