This is quite thought provoking. You can take it many different ways depending on which line you focus on most. Everyone is nearer to the brink of death everyday...I'm sure you've hear that before...But you wake up and take a breath and your alive again for another day. Then, death finds you and you have to face your demise, and all you want is a chance to accept that ending. Be at (can't find the right word here...) peace or understanding that it is your time, if your ready or not. I'm not sure that's where you were going with this, but each line said a different of deaths sequence to me. This is a very thought provoking piece. It says many things and then at the end you ask to be aloud one thing. :)

Sometime hard to know if you are alive or dead? Life is a wild ride. Best to stay in the fast lane and hope there is no detour. Most of us are dead. Need to find a real reason to be alive. A excellent poem.
