Just something i thought of

I will not fall

I will not fail

yet i was left

i will not stand

i will not shout

yet i was smashed

i would believe

i should believe

yet i got beat

My heart was weak

My mind was tempted

Yet i am the weak willed

I have written quite a few of this sort and received consensus from readers that it may be a tad abstract, that I should try to put flesh to the poem by giving some metaphor, like some images that would link senses to the weakness and how it was made to surface. It was called something like personal poetry. To me this is fine, there is a place for this type of poetic expression. Each reader is different and may prefer to approach a poem in a way that suits them. So they will tell you basically how to do just that. Your task is to filter out what is useful to you and decide what is for you the best way to pen your poem.Once you are happy with your poem, it won't matter so much what they say.
