Fallen Angel In The Undertow

Fallen Angel In The Undertow

A Poem by Anjel
"

sometimes there is no forgiveness for giving into temptation

"

A luminous innocent angel of light
Caught in the relentless undertow
Of the continuous crashing waves that
Suppress and control her lifeless form

Pulling her deeper into the depths
Of the darkened corrupted world
She had only contemplated previously
From her perch high above the sea

The beauty from the high heavens
Masked the malicious intentions
That the demons had planted
As they waited for her gradual descent

Shimmering blues and glaring greens
Quickly captured her undivided attention
Coaxing her lower with empty promises
To taste and experience the sugary air

Further down she gracefully floated
Unaware of the carefully placed snare
Intoxicated and entranced with the elegance
She willingly gave in to the temptation

As their sharpened claws dug into her skin
She felt her panic and scream building
They screeched in raucous laughter
While she fought in futile effort

Gripping her silk spun wings tightly
They ripped them from her radiant body
Her blood flowed across the sun-bleached sand
As she writhed in anguish and terror

Wailing in despair at her moment of weakness
She pleaded for mercy from her tormentors
Praying for forgiveness from her lord
As the demons drug her to the tormented sea

A crimson trail led to the point of her demise
As they cruelly heaved her into the icy water
Choking on the salt of the ocean and her tears
She implored for deliverance in her final moment

There was no forgiveness or saving grace
For she had strayed into the demons lair
The broken body of the sweet fallen angel
Pitches and spins now in the crushing undertow

A scarily excellent piece. I cannot imagine this happening to an angel, but you have made it believable. Excellent.
