Love Turned Cold

Love Turned Cold

A Poem by Anjel

She is restless in her weariness
Her visions torture her late in the night
It is there between wake and sleep
She cannot and does not have the energy to fight

His presence is strong and vivid
As his voice coaxes her gently
She reaches out to touch him
But he pulls away from her quickly

His voice is so sweet as he whispers her name
The smile belies the burning look in his eyes
His hatred for her sears through her heart
She cannot stand the pain as her spirit cries

Her longing and need for him is strong
She still screams his name deep in her soul
Begging him for one last kiss or touch
He will not for his love for her has turned cold

It is in her dreams that she finds him
She does not want to fall asleep
Taunting her with his beautiful smile
Watching her in pleasure as she weeps

I love the way this sounds, how dark it is and all that. Very nice. ^^

Wow.... I must admit that this poem is sadly dark, if well written. The rhyming felt natural, though a little stressed for lack of one at times. Obviously, it was rather short, but some of the ebst poems are that way, and this one is defeintly among the better I've read recently. I'm curious to see you're other works, but I digress. You did a decent job on this one, and defeintly have me looking for more.
