A Mother's Story

A Mother's Story

A Story by Fallenangeljc

As a child, I always had a huge fear of mostly everything I see. I would hug my mother and hide behind her from everything - people, cats, dogs, even my maid at times. I was just that way when I was young, I did know why I was that way, I simply was. The only comfort I realize I had was my mother, holding her calmed me down no matter what, and writing this down now, old and tired, rocking on my chair, watching the sun set while a cool breeze runs through my grey hair, I realize she still does...

I remember the first thing she did to calm me down without having me accuatly hold her, she bought me a pink teddy bear when I was 6, and she told me "this teddy bear is speacial, because inside this teddy bear I put my heart so I will always be close to you". That did the trick, from that day on, I hugged that teddy bear everywhere I went, believing that I was bringing my mother with me everywhere I went, it brought me peace, till I turned into a teenager...

I was still a shy person, I barely made friends and I barely spoke, but I was not clinging on to my mother anymore, but still clinging on to my pink teddy bear. My mother noticed this, and one day, she brought me to a beach, and she held in her hand a seashell, as the waves of the ocean carassed our feet, to me, it was something fascinating and shiny, and my mother told me "these are seashells darling, do you know? that if you collect enough of them you can make a wish that will surely come true". I spent my entire day collecting seashells, and believing my mother's words sooo much I wished for faith and bravery for life...

I became a very sociable person in my late teens, I was popular, tons of great friends, and a bunch of close ones, I was one of the top students in my school, and had a great loving awesome boyfriend. I came home from school one day and noticed my mother making something in the hall, I noticed the floor was littered with newspaper and my mother was doing something with clay and her hands. I asked what was she doing, and she replied she was making a clay flower pot. I didnt hesitate to help her make it immediately, and I did. When it was finished, my mother filled it up with soil and planted a small seed inside and she said "when this flower blooms, I will know its time"

Came the day, I was standing facing a mirror in a white wedding gown. Small tears started rolling down my cheeks, I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy I was getting married, sad that I was leaving my mother, and just right then, my mother came into the room, and she walked behind me, placing her arms around my shoulder she whispered "the flower bloomed..." and before I realized it, she placed a beautiful necklace around my neck and said "its time for you to bloom, more beautiful than any flower" and she turned me around and kissed my forehead...

Holding her, in my arms, I couldnt be happier, my baby girl, my sweetheart, my life. She looks soo innocent and adorable, there was nothing else that could replace her. My mother standing beside of me, she gave me a gift wrapped in a small box. She said "its for your child" I opened it and it was a pacifier, the one shapped like a mickey mouse, and I chuckled and thanked her...that pacifier became my daughter's favourite and she grew up to be more than I could ever wish for, and can never be as proud of her as I am right now...

Rocking in my chair, I whispered to myself "mother...thank you..." my voice trailed off into the background as I could hear my daughter talking to some people...I closed my eyes, let me dream and sleep now...into a night that never ends...

"your mother is such a speacial character isnt she?"

"yes she is..."

"she was an orphan wasnt she?"

"yes, with nothing more than a pink teddy bear when they found her"

----------------

"wasnt she always alone when she was young? I heard she was quite lonely"

"yes she was, until the day she dissapeared from the orphanage when she was a teenager, but she came back with a jar full of seashells, from that day onwards she became who she was today..."

-----------------

"heard she was had a hobby?"

"yes, her only hobby was flowers, she had a thing for flowers, and that flower there, the one on her shelve is her favourite, and as you can see, its blooming..."

-----------------

"I always saw your mother with that necklace around her neck..."

"nobody knows how she got that, it was there on the day she got married to my father..."

-----------------

"you love your mother alot dont you"

"nothing can replace her...ever since I was a baby girl..."

-----------------

"mother are u sleeping now..."

"What are these white feathers doing behind you...."
