Love and Death: Part 1

Love and Death: Part 1

A Poem by FallenAngel2012

It was too much for her to bare.
She couldn't fix anything.
Her life was falling apart.
She was falling apart.
Coming undone around the edges,
She was trapped.
No way out.
Except for one:
Death.
It was her only solution;
The only way
She would stop feeling
Pain,
Hurt,
Despair.
She knew this was coming,
Had it all planned out.
Drowning
Seemed like the best solution.
Roped a one hundred pound weight around her foot,
Threw away the key,
And jumped.
Water seeped into her lungs.
She felt pain,
Sweet, delicious pain.
Now all she had to do was wait.
Everything was peaceful,
Serene.
She enjoyed this.
It would all be better this way;
There's no point in living.
She didn't struggle.
Not even once.
Just let the waves carry her body away
To the depths of the ocean,
The dark, lifeless ocean.
She heard a sound ,
A cry.
It brought pain to her.
She had never heard something like this.
It tore at her heart.
She couldn't bare it.
That awful noise.
Wanted it to go away.
Closed her eyes.
Then she remembered
The letter that explained it all.
It was written to him,
The person who made her die emotionally,
The person that had her heart
And then left it out in the cold rain.
Gathering every ounce of strength,
She tried to block out the noise.
The noise suddenly stopped.
Instead there was a crash.
Her ears were sensitive to every noise.
She was being swallowed
Into the deep abyss.
She pondered about
the noises,
the scream,
the crash,
and now
the rapid movement of water
caused only by something moving.
The letter!
She wondered if he had read it yet.
The she felt something wrap around her.
The touch was familiar to her.
She screamed.
He screamed and whirled her around.
Claimed her lips as his own
and never let go.
He motioned upward.
She shook her head no.
This pain had to end.
He pulled.
She pulled back.
The she collapsed.
He screamed.
She recognized that sound
As the one from before.
She was letting go.
He wasn't.
She struggled to open her eyes.
But couldn't.
And mouthed the words
She never got the chance to say,
"I love you."
She died in his arms.
He never let go.
Crying out when she died,
He tied the rope around his leg
And died just as she had,
Mouthing the words,
"I love you."
