Love,Respect and Great Understanding

What my Mother really had to say

There were the many of times
When I sat down with my Mother,
For a serious chat and would ask
The questions I wanted answered.

My Favorite Question was
What in the world would you like from me,
and she replied It certainly can not be bought
In a department store or a certain gift you must pay for.

For she had replied in three words
All I would like from you my dearest Son,
Is some Love Respect and Understanding
If you could give to me all three,

I could become the happiest mother
That one could be Love and respected,
By her child at any age with much
Worldly understanding to go with all the love.

That you could ever give and that my Son,
Just can not be Bought in a store.
For the love you Give to me
Doesn't cost a thing, just your time.

You're loving words that ring in my ears,
When you sing that special song, you have written
For me. With all your Love Respect and Understanding,
Written down in the words of love only a mother can understand
From a loving Son.
