You were never my mistakeA Poem by Falcon1I took a wife to last a lifetime then did withoutI pick the one so we would get long plenty. You were never my mistake, That lead me to my heartaches. I live my life in pain, Because I go on aimlessly. No direction in my life, Just a bunch of strife. Maybe I should of tired, for that second lovely wife. But I just wanted My love, To be a once in a lifetime thing I did not want to have a second fling. Yes you were not my mistake, Our marriage may have lead to my heartaches. But your mind was made up, You learned our mistaken marriage would fail. I left the stress get in my way, of any chance of happiness. We could of spread to our kids, But the worst of my feeling, Was watching the children Growing up in a broken home. I did my Best to show love after I was gone. But by now they know I can't change a thing, I can't live in the past. Life was not a blast. She move on slowly as first, She carried for me over the years. But she seen my moods were hurting the growth of our children. so she thought she removed the problem, from her life. But I just sat back and watched the cards fall where they may, I knew Her new husband was a bad card to play. I now am retired from working and have time to spend with the children, Grandchildren that they are, they are wonderful to me Treat me with kindness and love me so. My children know my history, and have dealt with it in their own special ways. For that is all I have to say. In this world I do believe in the power of prayer, Which guides my life these days. As I journey on my way, Wanting someday to be forgiven By the Lord of Host, when I give up my ghost. © 2018 Falcon1 |
