Most Proudest Grandfather Ever

Most Proudest Grandfather Ever

A Poem by Falcon1

Most Proudest GrandFather Ever Amen

The Most Proudest grandfather ever
he thought he was so very clever
he when out on a Christmas endeavor
His mighty quest was to get his grand children

To love him forever at first he thought his words were clever
he thought he has won their tiny hearts over
Like when a miner moves dirt with a bull dozer
They move the Dirt hundred times over and over

Adventurous Gram Pa took a Ride
In his Hot red Oldsmobile 1975
on an early December morn
To explore all the toys

That were at the toy store
Board games by Hasbo and Marks
Sorry Life and Risk for starts
Chess and Checkers has won my heart

The standards and all the rest
Twister was one of the best
Gram Pa was about to buy them all
But he put a few back upon the wall

He loved those grand children so much
for in his heart they could do no wrong
no matter how many times they played
dirty tricks on their old Gram Pa

He would just dust them off
and smile and say
Oh how wonderful for Me having 3 Grand Children
On this wonderful winter's day

Testing my patients as I'm getting older
but with each passing day I love them more and more
So they find you out on an early December morning
At the Toy stores looking for the latest

Learning toys for their inquiring minds
want to explore for they are knocking
At the door of knowledge
Before they are ready to enter college

So off to the Toy stores Gram Pa went
In search for a new tricycle bicycle and a new tent
For Gram Pa was thinking ahead
To summer time fun

fishing hiking Bicycling camping outdoors club and more
His Grand children were not going to be
left out of the fun of Middle School or High School Fun
Teenagers gather with smiles

That last for a lifetime
I remember those days from 71-75 Glory Days
When it was good time to be alive
So long ago

Now days I can only see the good old days
Back again through my Grand son's Christopher's eye's
Once more when
He steps up to the batter box

Or out to Second Base to take his favorite
Position on the Diamond field
Defending pop-ups and Grounder
fielding for he's quit good

I'm the photo pushing Pa Pa
In the grandstands with the 600mm lens in his hands
getting up close is my forte
for I am the photo nut

not happy unless
I get the ball hitting the bat
In a connecting thrust
Thrilling watching the little guy

Run the bases with ease
watch out for that stone Christopher
Don't trip and remind me of me
So far I have enjoy my roll as Gram Pa Jim

The three kids really love me and have left me in
In final review God's Gift to the elderly
Is the Grand Kids who love you
Christopher 8 , Hayden 5 and Little Lucy 2 all three loving me Unconditionally

So they hug you , squeeze you and kiss you too
until you're laughing on the floor
Creating memories that will last
until your long past gone

and your grandchildren can look back and create
a new song and Mom and Dad will sing along
