They Called me a hero

They Called me a hero

A Poem by Falcon1
"

Soldiers

"
They Called me a hero
I was quit the man
Running from Bombs and bullets
as fast as I can

they Called me a hero
But I felt less than a man
Time would tell the story
Of North Vietman

Fighting off the yellow man
In the town's of Saigon
Drafted into the Army
Not by our choice

we were fighting a war
that was not very popular
back home in the states
The war would go on for years it would seem

no end to this war
It was a political fight
Money machine for companies back home
But our men were getting chewed up

and then sent back home
After the war there was training for jobs
for vets only but they felt sad and lonely
no body want to here their war stories

for there was not glory
I felt bad for Our GI in combat
They was done wrong by the politician
who create war then sent their son's to college
So They don't have to fight
protected by their legal rights

Only thing war teaches us. Is no-one can won.

My father fought in the Korean war and Vietnam. He would speak of the wars except when he was drunk. I agree with you. Need to take care of the Veterans. Thank you for sharing your words and thoughts.
