Happiness is strange sometimes.

All because of one stupid smiley face,

I smile.

Not just any smiley face,

only ones from you.

If you just text me hi,

I feel the same.

But when you put that one stupid smiley face,

I feel like you actually want to talk,

and so I smile.

My day gets better,

and it's all because you added,

one smiley face.

My friend once said (after a bad breakup) that they would never again put their happiness in the hands of another - I guess because it leads to being 'elevated', 'satiated', 'satisfied', 'happy' even...with receiving a 'stupid smiley face.'
