Sacred white

Sacred white

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

Frozen beds and powerful stones,
Elevate the souls from heavy bones.
White winds and placid trees,
Move the dust off your knees.
Dark days and sacred places,
Always win the patient races.
Restless birds and playful grounds,
Open the vastness of hushed sounds.
Sleepless rooms and tired brains,
Wrap your heart with rusty chains.
Numb gestures and lifeless faces,
Fill you with nothing but empty spaces.
From summer flies a wretched dove,
To show you the essence of winter's love.

Very stark imagery of the changing of the seasons. A very enjoyable poem to be sure.
