Expansive pages

Expansive pages

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

Expansive pages are reaching for you,
But you are still standing in your shade.
Your mind is reading the sentences backwards,
And you don't know how to turn it off.
I am laying on the foggy grass,
Never seeing the worms that crawl,
But feeling their pressure against my hidden asylums.
So light up your matches,
But don't fall off your ladder.
Take a listen to them.
Don't ever lose hope,
Wolves passed that way,
Howling to make you feel your intuition.
Feel the coldness of the fences,
The moisture of the grass,
Reflections of the moon,
The importance of your surroundings.
Feel deeper.
