Sacrosanct asterisks

Sacrosanct asterisks

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

Constellations,

Spattered,

All over the changing sky.

Stars,

Always our greatest solace,

Forming the mazes.

“We are the sacrosanct asterisks”

Whispering,

Acknowledging us.

In the sails of enchantment,

I will touch the stars.

My unwavering desire,

Will always keep going,

Waiting for the wondrous night.

Rotating planets,

Above the clouds,

Above the dreams.

Just a single touch…

I like the comparison of your "unwavering desire" with the vastness of the universe, as well as the night and dreams being sort of infinite. Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah..thanks
Where I live it's actually kind of rare to see a totally clear sky at night, but when it happens...it's amazing. I think I will think of this poem every time a totally clear night occurs.
