Why does it have to be this way?

Why can't you leave me be

For a while?

I just need some time,

Everything I do, locked in a file.

 

I tell you I can't see you,

Just for one day,

You won't leave me alone,

Why does it have to be this way.

 

My heart wants to be with you,

But my mind needs some space,

I can't keep up with you,

Not at this pace.

 

I hope you understand

It's with you I want to be,

But now I want to be alone

I just wish you could see.

This stanza really struck me as something so unique...I've never seen anything so real and unsaid in 'heartbreak' poetry. This was a tremendous effort Jenny...I applaud you:)

I'll have to agree with the rhyming - you always pull it together and with a great flow to it. I could see it kind of with the other pieces though and I know I'm one to do this or maybe it's the ones I'm picking to read first. You can tell the heart-break and the pain a guy put you through, but it's good to let it out. That's how I cope with different events that affected me in my life.., but it's good to see something mixed up in it all and I look forward to reading that. Kudos!
