Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a thoughtful time
I'd sit and cry all night.
Nothing ever made me smile,
nothing was ever bright.

But then one day a star soared by,
and I wished and wished and wished
to hope my life would blossom and grow
and sadness would leave my wrists.

Time went by and nothing changed,
still I remembered my drams,
I believed in this beautiful star
with it's amazing colorful beams.

Now you look, see me now,
I've made it so far,
everything's perfect and back on track,
I love my shooting star.

My life was always downhill once.
Everything was just absurd.
I was slowly fading away
but I never whispered a word.

People thought I always smiled,
and that's the way I liked it.
Until the day my mind broke down
and every bad thought was lit.

That's the day that everything changed
and things just fell apart,
since people knew I was upset
and depressed from the very start.

Now you look, see me now,
I've made it oh so far.
Everything's perfect and back on track.
I love my shooting star.

Years passed by yet I still thought
about those scary times
when all I'd do was hide away
and write my tears into rhymes.

Poetry saved my entire life,
my boyfriend fixed me too,
my best friend helped me through it all
since that's what best friends do.

I love my life just how it is;
A home, my love, my friends.
Before I wanted to finish it all,
now I wish it would never end.

Now you look, see me now,
I've made it oh so far.
Everything's perfect and back on track...

I love my shooting star..

I wrote this in 2012, found it in my boyfriend's sketch book, a poem/song I totally forgot about it :)

Sat reading... remembering my days of darkness... the once upon a time place where all was pain... So glad to have lived... to have found that deeper place of joy... and to know that my precious friend Jenny is loving her life and letting the shadows fall away too.
