You're Still HereA Poem by Asmus GreenYouthful
love is typical and tragic Youthful love
is almost pathetic. Strange how
we got into this mess Strange how
I still feel like less.
I’ll admit
I gave up on you too early Not that
you ever gave me a chance. I’ll admit
I still miss you oh so dearly Not that
you ever dropped your heartbreaking lance.
I despise
the fear I had when we parted You
despised the fact that we used to love wholehearted. I despise
the jealousy I felt when we split You
despised the new love you had to show for it.
I’ll always
regret not seizing the moment You already
forgot when that even was. I’ll always
regret that I left you broken You already
forgot you ever had a loss. I am happy
for you now, I truly am. Lies are not my strong suit, but I cannot forget you. I still see
you, hear you and feel you. In my dreams you still live with me true. I know I am
stuck in the past, I truly do. I follow your life and wonder what it has come
to. Please do
not play me as a game, dear. If only you’d please prove you're still here. © 2015 Asmus GreenFeatured Review
