You're Still Here

You're Still Here

A Poem by Asmus Green

Youthful love is typical and tragic

Youthful love is almost pathetic.

Strange how we got into this mess

Strange how I still feel like less.

I’ll admit I gave up on you too early

Not that you ever gave me a chance.

I’ll admit I still miss you oh so dearly

Not that you ever dropped your heartbreaking lance.

I despise the fear I had when we parted

You despised the fact that we used to love wholehearted.

I despise the jealousy I felt when we split

You despised the new love you had to show for it.

I’ll always regret not seizing the moment

You already forgot when that even was.

I’ll always regret that I left you broken

You already forgot you ever had a loss.

I am happy for you now, I truly am. Lies are not my strong suit, but I cannot forget you.

I still see you, hear you and feel you. In my dreams you still live with me true.

I know I am stuck in the past, I truly do. I follow your life and wonder what it has come to.

Please do not play me as a game, dear. If only you’d please prove you're still here.

To loose sometimes is gain for seems to be eternity but eternity can end
sudently sometimes withhout notice thats when the hearts defences calls
on peace and serenty secounds minutes hours passes and time shall heal me
and a nother summer will come bringing new flowers I've been their before
waiting for new love to blossom and grow again--keep your eyes and your spirit
open and it will find you

beautiful to realize love sometimes hurts more than it feels good to have room to grow in wisdom
is to take control of ones ability to move forward and find something new and we shall ll ways be
at risk for our heart to mended - we can love again keep writing this peace is very very moving
