The Apple's Tree

The Apple's Tree

A Poem by Asmus Green
"

A poem to desribe my parents.

"
Oh father, you were always a beacon of aspiration, a beacon of gentle and calm light, yet rough and disciplinizing. I could never reach you even if I tried. Your light blinds me when I get close to you. Instead you shall be like the lighthouse, and like the ship you will guide me through darkness. But to reach it, will only lead me to my demise.
---

Oh mother, as true as it stands, you were the only person to ever resemble me personally. While I look like father and act like father, in the end I am more like you than anyone would ever believe. To call you my mother is an understatement, words alone cannot describe your place in my life. To tame a woman like you was never meant to be, yet I feel like I tamed you, by being ungrateful.

Asmus Green
First poem to be posted to this site. It is a more personal description of my parents and may not seem relateable to everyone considering no one has had the same family.
