A Chapter by Eliza Jones

Wait. Did that really just happen?
Apparently so, because the man keeps talking.
"You have her eyelashes. Her smile. Her frame. My eyes, my ears and mouth. Oh, honey!"
"Who.... Who are you?" I ask, unable to keep the tremor out of my voice.
"Do you not remember me?" He asks. his smile falters for a moment, but then he laughs, and it returns. "Of course not. You were 6 when we brought Steaven, and Eliza and Garret didn't want you to see me. They sent you and Sara to a friend's house that night," He says thoughtfully. "That makes my job a little harder. But Eliza and Garret played their roles well," he pauses, and looks me full on in the face, something my parents refused to do. When I see the tenderness in his face, I feel overwhelmed.

Why does an utter stranger care about me so much?

"Libby, I know you are never going to belive this, but...." he clears his throght. "I am you, Sara, and Steven's birth father."
