you are someone'sA Poem by Faith Wamamboits a twist to love. but readers are able to understand it in their own mannerYou are someone’s. It’s them and them only. It cannot be another to take their
place. A text, a greeting, a phone call mean the world. Their hair, height, voice, smile, legs, ‘imperfections’, their everything is what you need (not
want) you can’t find it anywhere else. It’s them. You love them despite them
being themselves in manners that hurt you. The pain is your evidence of love. To
you, looking at them, you say proudly ‘this is mine’ and the world should know
it. But they don’t want that, and leave. You still want the world to know that
they were yours at one time because they were your perfection and you’re convinced everyone sees it. Them you become someone else’s ‘them only’. You understand. © 2017 Faith WamamboAuthor's Note
