The First Cup

The First Cup

A Poem by Fairytale

The morning sun arises through the trees,
The cold weather brings me to my knees.

A simple wind or air of snow,
The morning surly still must flow.

Ah that smell of pure delight,
my nose in tease, no substance in sight.

The smell robust and full of flair,
My love come to me...oh come to me, I swear.

Bringing me slowly to my feet,
My eyes open wider so our lips shall meet.

Out of bed I rise again,
The sun still rising breaking my zen.

Rising, rising, rising today,
The gift of sweet tastes like that of May.

The air is still cold but your heat draws me to,
The nectar of life is made into you.

I reach, I pour, I sip my sweet java,
You give me strength, you give me life, you give me warmth more than lava.

I sip slowly your sweet taste from a big, warm mug,
What to do without you, my mug I must hug.

I feel fresh and my senses are now alive,
The joy of that first cup heavenly jive.
To my next cup I keenly dive.

Cleverly written. At first I think of love. Then you get to the end and it's an exquisite write about one who loves their coffee. You nifty Chihuahua.

I like a simple rhyming poem and this one flows easily without having to struggle to understand. It's a pleasant poem too, but strange reading this as someone from England, as we are going into our summer and May has been particularly warm so far :P

This flows very well with lots of well matched words throughout...winter is certainly approaching fast which is well reflected throughout this write...all the things that chill and in turn bring us warmth.. well done. :)
