Advice from a Teenage GirlA Poem by Emma Lee"You can't run forever, you have to face your problems." I tell my best friend as she sobs into my pillow, the night she decided to run away. She doesn’t know that I have a bag packed and ready to go. "You can't give up, what they say doesn't matter." I tell my nephew when he comes home in tears, the bullying has gotten worse. He doesn’t know that bullies are why I hate myself. "You are stronger then this, I know you are." I tell my boyfriend while he has a knife pressed to his wrist, he can’t take it anymore, he wants to die. He doesn’t know that I have a bottle of pills for the same reason. “You are amazing, I know taking that first bite was hard.” I tell my sister as she chokes down her food, she stopped eating months ago to be beautiful. She doesn’t know that I haven't had a bite to eat in a week. Maybe, I should take my own advice. © 2013 Emma LeeAuthor's Note
