We Know of Your Desires

We Know of Your Desires

A Poem by astoundinglyattractive

We are the darkest of the night, the fearsome stalkers of your dreams

We are the being that makes you sweat, run, and scream

We are the dwellers of you deep-rooted desires

And we know of the fantasies of which you never tire.

We know of the blood you wish to bring to your lips

We know you the knife with the red and sharpened tip

We know of the weapons you keep locked inside your mind

And we know quite wisely, that it’s only a matter of time.

We know of your boiling rage and we know of your fears

We know of you weakness and the reason for your tears

We know all the words you say when no-one else can hear

And we know all the things you think when there are many ears.

Have we introduced ourselves? We are the demons that you keep

And if you wished us gone, we would readily up and leave.

But we are quite beautiful, something only you can see

And you love us so, for it is we that you now need.

There is no reason, young one, no reason to be afraid

Why should you be afraid of your very own brain?

You created us, after all, you are our master

And you create us, more frequently and faster.

We can see the ruin you have created in yourself

And you know if you asked us we would gladly help.

But we are here for another purpose, one you are not yet aware-

We are here for you, master, when you are no longer scared.

We must confess, our Lord, that at night when you sleep

Out into the shadows, a few of us sneak

And we kill others dreams and haunt them for fun

And in those dreams, to you, others run.

Did you know, my Lord, that you will soon be the god?

And your lack of concern will only help your cause.

You will reign over them with fear and with blood

And your evil and hatred will drown them out in a flood.

Just one caution, master, we ask only one thing,

That you will feed to us the souls that you drain

We thrive off destruction and feed on their pain

Why else, after all, would we have chose you that day?

Finally, a poem about demons that doesn't have a religous undertone.
After reading some of casquatch's poetry, I have had an urge to write creepy stuff

of course, i am no good at writing creepy.

Congrats on getting second place in my competition!! I must say that you are really good at writing in a creepy style. I read this out to my bf and he was extremely creeped out, almost worried and I was just amazed. It is a very powerful write and I think that you can get away with the level of disturbing images because it is meant to be from the demons point of view and of course demons are not nice. When reading this I felt like I was in the mind of a real demon so really great work!!

This was beautiful. Extremely. :'D You're awesome at writing creepy stuff! It's very relatable... I think people want to be perfect, want their demons to go away, but they know deep down that they can't live without them...

*tears* This was so beautiful. And I can say that because I love creepy stuff. The flow of it, the story of it. Oh my goodness.
I have no words.
No words.
