The First Omen

The First Omen

A Poem by astoundinglyattractive

Forever and ever

each step we take

leads us farther and farther

and futher away

and when we look behind us,

i can barley see your face

it's almost like this could be the end

of each and every day

last time i saw the inside

of a humans soul

i remember that all i heard was evil

and all i smelt was old

it was the stench of unforgiving

and the very voice of hate

and it scared me to my inest depths

of what with humans are made

and that day it made me wonder

are we all the same?

is that voice, that sight, that pain,

alike in every way?

will i turn up just like them,

enveloped in my sins

and will it end the future

before it ever begans?

besides, now i am tired,

and i must head off to rest.

but if i ever get up,

i'll tell you all about the final test.
