A Shadow

I look back and what do i find?

A shadow.

I look forward and what do i find?

A shadow.

I look within and what to i find?

A shadow.

Covering my heart, it is

keeping it in the shade.

But when in the shhade you become cold,

and you can no longer be warm.

 

So i suppose its a metaphore,

yes that seems quite reasonable,

my heart is shadowed under these trees

which beneath i stand.

Yes, a metaphore, of course!

for what else could it be,

not a sign, of course, for that would have a deeper meaning.

 

Maybe if i go, just a little bit deeper

and find that little spot of light

shining through the leaves,

then, oh the joy thta will become me

when i find that little spot

where the light can still shine and warm my heart.

 

Yes, if i look long enough

and search for all my days

then i will find a way, i swear,

to change my preset destiney.

Yes, i swear, i will!

Without a shadow of a doubt.

A very clever write - imagery is outstanding. Some small typos, though - metaphor, that, destiny - but the basic message is very cool!
