The Night

The Night

A Poem by astoundinglyattractive

The night
is when the creatures come out
they search and hunt and prowl
they sniff the air
to find the scent of your fear

The night
is when i choose to hide
because the creatures, i fear
the sharp, sharp teeth,
long, long claws,
And the smell of death so strong

The night
is when i tend to cry
and never fall asleep
The tears form puddles
around my feet
these are my history
they tell my years

The night
is when i take the knife
and feel its cool hard blade
put it up against my wrist
breath and hesitate

will this be the night i lose
the battle i can't win?
or will i hold fast
another day
until its night again?

I loved it! It was really well written. Great choice of powerful words. The only thing I think you might want to change about it is the part where you say "the sharp, sharp teeth, long, long claws," because you might find another word to use instead of repeating "sharp" and "long". But it still flows very nicely. Great job :D
