Neighbor

Neighbor

A Poem by D Alan Johnstone

Pull out the inflatable pool.
The pink flamingo too.
Now the palm
...all set
swipe right.
She’ll be arriving soon.
Random Kia pulls up.
Girl looks the same.
Blonde, young, cute, dismayed
by the inflatable pool
in your driveway
and not the
“tropical landscape”
as conveyed
in the bio by your name.

Seems to work though.
They come and they stay
until tomorrow
when a new Kia arrives
with another conquest
who’s come to play.
