Spiritual Journey

Spiritual Journey

A Poem by Fairplay

No transport for me and my mate
this time we wouldn’t be late
Rather than hike, we could “Borrow a Bike”
leave it as good as new
at the gate

No need to stop at the brink
we both had too much to drink
We both got frisky on bottles of whiskey
not even pausing
to think

Down to the lake in the quarry
be ok tomorrow don’t worry
Sunshine and wine would make us feel fine
not just sit on the fence
feeling sorry

No clothes in the water we’d wear
sun dancing on bodies so bare
To try if we can to get us a tan
it seemed no-one else
was there

Not being ones that would moan
how long would it take to get home?
It might sound odd we trusted in God
there was no fear of breaking
our bone

Red as a lobster and wobbly to boot
no problems we didn’t give a hoot
Try as we might would fall off that bike
with minds both the same
a bit moot

Well, this sounds like a fun adventure! Based on a true story?

The exercise, the sun and sand and sea, the lobster mimicry, the drunken revelry . . . I want your life!

This was a hoot Eric...hope you didn't suffer too much with the sunburn!!!

Note for next time: Bring a designated driver with you!!!!
